Transport to and from the various activities and attractions
This pre-packaged day trip focuses on local food and drinks, cultural history, waterfalls, and the Hardangerfjord itself. The program extends over 6 hours 15 minutes and is available Monday to Saturday until 13.08.
You can join the trip both from Hardangerfjord Hotel in Øystese, Thon Hotel Sandven in Norheimsund, or via bus 925 from Bergen to Norheimsund. The day program is tailored to correspond by bus to and from Bergen.
Departure
The day starts at Hardanger Maritime Centre at 09:30. The museum is only 600 meters by foot from the bus stop in Norheimsund / Thon Hotel Sandven. It is also possible to order pick up from Hardangerfjord Hotel in Øystese (departure at 09:15). Then you will be delivered directly at Hardanger Maritime Centre.
Hardanger Maritime Centre
The maritime museum is considered by many to be among the best in their class in the whole Nordic region! During the Hardanger Maritime Museum tour, you can hear the sound of craftsmen at work and smell fresh materials, tar, ropes, and glowing wrought iron. You also get to hear the story "when the sea was the road."
Steinsdalsfossen
The spectacular day trip continues by minibus/minivan to the magical Steinsdalsfossen waterfall. The waterfall, with its 50-meter-high fall, is among Norway's most popular attractions. Here you can walk at the back of the waterfall without getting wet. The road continues behind the waterfall to a lookout point on the other side - with beautiful views towards Norheimsund and over the entire valley of Steinsdalen.
Hardanger Akvasenter
From Steinsdalsfossen, the day trip continues by minibus/minivan to Øystese and Hardanger Akvasenter - a viewing center for aquaculture. You will get a guided tour of the interactive exhibition "This is where we live." Very interesting for both children and adults!
Fjord safari with RIB - Hardangerfjord Adventure
Next door to the Akvasenter, you'll find the base of Hardangerfjord Adventure, which takes you on a fast-paced RIB boat trip on the Hardangerfjord. A good tip is to have the camera ready because here you will explore the beautiful fjord and hidden gems such as Herand, Fyksesund, and Kvamsøy - several of them only accessible by boat!
Lunch and cider tasting - Spildegarden
After the guided RIB adventure, you walk 600 meters up to Spildegarden. The family business has long traditions in fruit production, and now they fully invest in developing first-class apple juice and cider. The fruit farm has its own restaurant where you can taste three different ciders and a light lunch consisting of cured meats, cheese, and house bread. Everything is made from high-quality local ingredients!
Return
Those who had pick-up in Øystese return to the city center after Spildegarden. The rest will be transported back to Norheimsund by minibus/minivan. You will arrive in Norheimsund at 15:45. Bus 925 to Bergen departs at 16.00.
Driver/guide: The driver and your various guides speak English and Norwegian.
