Kvam and Hardanger are a perfect destination for a Norwegian holiday with the children! Get good tips for exciting and child-friendly experiences suitable for the whole family. Outer parts of Hardanger have much to offer for parents of young children who want to create good holiday memories with the family.

From water parks to interactive exhibitions and tours on the fjord - you won't run out of inspiring and exciting things to do in Kvam and Hardanger. With its proximity to Bergen and a short drive to the rest of Hardanger, Kvam is a perfect starting point for a holiday on and along the Hardangerfjord.

A fast-paced boat trip with a RIB is always popular with children. Get up close to the waterfalls and feel the splash of water on your face. If you are lucky, you can see eagles, porpoises and killer whales up close. Hardangerfjord Adventure and Norheimsund RIB Seafari offer boat trips in the Hardangerfjord and the Fyksesund from both Norheimsund and Øystese.

All children love to swim, and here they will find many fantastic swimming beaches across the entire municipality. Norheimsund and Øystese have beautiful sandy beaches in the central area, but there are also many hidden gems in Kvam. Ask the tourist information for good tips!

If it should rain, you can visit Hardangerbadet in Øystese. The whole family can enjoy themselves there with a water slide, training pool, family pool, counter-current pool and climbing wall.

In the same building as Hardangerbadet, you will find Hardanger Akvasenter's interactive exhibition on aquaculture. After a visit here, you can continue the tour at the viewing facility on the fjord. You will be transported here by RIB and will, among other things, take part in feeding the fish.

You can also feed fish in Gullfiskvatnet. The lake, a nice place to rest and swim, is home to "goldfish" who appreciate getting food from both big and small.

How about combining activity and learning? Children can participate in several exciting and educational activities at the Hardanger Maritime Centre. They can make wooden figures, rope, build small boats, and learn knots here. Feel free to rent traditional rowing boats for leisurely trips on the fjord.
