Stavali is situated 1062 masl in Hardangervidda National Park. It takes about one day to hike from Kinsarvik, through the beautiful Hus Valley (Husedalen- valley of four waterfalls) to arrive at Stavali. Stavali is operated by the Norwegian Trekking Association/Bergen. It is a self service lodge with 62 beds. Self service implies that the visitors themselves are responsible for cooking, cleaning, fetching water and keeping things tidy. There is food supply for sale, visitors do not have to bring any food. Payment is according to a price list (cash). Stavali is open and a key is not necessary.

Note that Hardangervidda is snow free in July and August, and hiking during the rest of the year is hazardous. Always check the weather forecast before hiking in Hardangervidda. Bring warm clothes (also in summer), and never go without a topographical hiking map and compass.In most areas of Hardangervidda there is no mobile phone coverage.
