Hardangertun is located in Kinsarvik, once an important Viking settlement. It is on the banks of the Hardangerfjord along road #13. We are a short drive to the towns of Loftus, Odda, Utne and Eidfjord, which is home to the famous Norseman extreme triathlon, Sima Hydroelectric plant and the Hardangervidda Nature Center. We also own Mikkelparken theme park, which is a located directly across the street from Hardangertun.
Surrounded by unmatched natural beauty, Hardangertun offers a great spot for weekend and extended family vacations. The area is perfect for relaxing, taking part in hiking along the nature trails to beautiful waterfalls, canoeing in the fjord, or doing some fishing. Sightseeing enthusiasts will love our 900-year-old church, hiking up the Monk Steps, which were laid in the 12th Century, or visiting majestic Trolltunga.
Our accommodations consist of 26 cabins, 8 large apartments and parking for RV's/Caravans. So whether you're 2 people, a family of 8 or driving your camper here, we have a great place for you to stay.
In addition, we have large rooms for your party, or conference. We also are set up to host school groups, and corporate "team building" events.
The Instanes family has owned Hardangertun since it was founded in 1950.
