How about a long weekend in Eidfjord? Here are suggestions for a few days of experiences for families with children.
DAY 1
Take a walk to the sandy beach Eidfjordvatnet lake and around Hæreid with burial mounds from the Viking and Iron Ages. Try your luck fishing, the fjord is free for everyone, all year round. If it's warm weather, Kråkeskarvet beach with play equipment for the little ones and a barbecue area is a great place to spend the afternoon.
DAY 2
Walk along the river in Simadal with a bbq shelter and a campfire for grilling hot dogs. Drive up to Kjeåsen to enjoy great fjord views. Visit the Viking Exhibition with storytelling at "Tunet på Haugen"
DAY 3
