This is truly a unique experience you won't regret. The guided tour is tailored to your preferences, from easy walking to advanced ice climbing. Folgefonni Glacier Team, celebrating their 30th anniversary in 2024, knows precisely what it takes to give you the safest and most memorable tour possible.

After an adventurous day on the glacier, we recommend driving along Glacier Road and the Norwegian Scenic Route Hardanger to the idyllic fjord village of Utne. This drive, an attraction in itself, is a favourite among locals and tourists. Here, you get close to nature, which truly defines Hardanger.

You'll check in at Utne Hotel, Norway's oldest preserved wooden hotel from 1722. This historic hotel is perfect for those who enjoy authentic experiences and love good food. Its restaurant is known for culinary highlights using local ingredients.

And with Utne Hotel as your base, you're within a short distance of many of Norway's and Hardanger's most famous attractions — such as Trolltunga, the Queen's Trail (Dronningstien), Husedalen Valley, Buer, sightseeing on the Hardangerfjord, and much more!

Are you ready for a memorable summer vacation in the heart of Norwegian nature? Hardanger offers spectacular experiences and unique adventures. With its majestic mountains, lush landscapes, idyllic fjords, and the Folgefonna glacier, Hardanger is a perfect destination for those who want to explore the best of Norwegian nature.

Guided Blue Ice Hike

The tour is tailored to the guests' wishes and skills, making it suitable for most people. Here, you can explore spectacular ice caves and enjoy panoramic views of Folgefonna, the North Sea, and the Rosendal Alps.

Folgefonni Glacier Team is a very reputable company whose guides are highly experienced and knowledgeable about glaciers. In other words, it is definitely a safe tour. This guided blue ice tour is truly spectacular and will be remembered forever.

Did you know that the glacier changes from day to day? A tour in the rain is entirely different from a tour in the sun. This means you get a unique experience regardless of the weather and the day you visit.

Get to know Torbjørn — one of the guides at Folgefonni Glacier Team —and what it's like to have Folgefonna as an office.

When the journey is an attraction in itself

After an adventurous day on the glacier with Folgefonni Glacier Team, you will drive from Folgefonna to Utne. This drive is an attraction in itself. First, you drive Glacier Road down from the glacier, and here, you can experience great contrasts along the short route from the fjord edge to the top of the Folgefonna glacier. These contrasts are something tourists from all over the world marvel at!

When you reach the fjord edge in Jondal, you continue along the Norwegian Scenic Route Hardanger, one of Norway's 18 National Tourist Routes. Here, you drive through untouched nature in a postcard landscape that has inspired great artists throughout the ages. Along the way, you pass farms with tens of thousands of fruit trees, views of spectacular mountains, the Hardangerfjord itself, and idyllic fjord villages. This is one of our favourite routes at Visit Hardangerfjord!
