About

Valhall Via Ferrata starts at Lothepus Camping, a short walk from Odda town centre. The route climbs 120 metres along the rock face, gaining 70 vertical metres, before returning on a trail of approximately 500 metres.

Trolltunga Adventures has been running guided tours in Hardanger since 2013. Experienced guides lead you through the route — climbing harness and helmet are included in the price. No previous climbing experience is required, though some sections are exposed and the challenge feels genuine.

From the rock face, the views open across the Sørfjord and the mountains on either side. Below lies the stave church at Lothepus Camping — a large timber building modelled on Norway's medieval stave churches, and one of very few of its kind in the Hardanger region.

Guided departures run four times daily: 10:00, 12:30, 15:00 and 17:30, from May to October. The route is suitable for children from age 7 and makes an excellent introduction to via ferrata for first-timers. The full experience takes around two hours. Price from NOK 250 per person.

After the climb, Langhuset Restaurant at Lothepus Camping is a natural next stop — and the stave church on the campsite grounds is worth a closer look while you are there.
