About

This year marks the 150th anniversary of Edvard Grieg's Ballade in G Minor - one of his most personal and monumental piano works. Hearing it performed in Hardanger, the landscape that would later become one of Grieg's greatest sources of inspiration, gives the music a unique sense of place and resonance.

With violinist Ragnhild Hemsing, pianist Thormod Rønning Kvam and musicians from Messiaen Quartet Copenhagen, this concert places Grieg in dialogue with both tradition and the present day. Works by Signe Lund, Johan Halvorsen and Morten Christophersen create a rich musical journey, highlighting Grieg's legacy while opening the programme to new voices and perspectives.
