About

Discover the narrow and tranquil Fyksesund – a secluded fjord branch framed by steep mountains and seasonal waterfalls. On this RIB safari, our local guides take you from Norheimsund into the most untouched area of the Hardangerfjord.

You  travel south through the strait, continue east along the main fjord, and then enter the dramatic Fyksesund. The deeper thei go, the quieter it gets. The inner section feels remote and pristine, offering a rare sense of stillness. Outside Botnen, an old roadless hamlet, we make a stop to admire the landscape and hear stories about life along the fjord.

Fyksesund changes character throughout the year:
• during snowmelt and rainy days, countless waterfalls appear along the mountainsides
• in winter, many of them freeze into striking ice formations

Along the way, we make several photo stops and share insights into local history, culture, and nature. Our experienced captains prioritise safety and comfort throughout the seasons. The RIB has saddle-style seats arranged in two rows and carries up to 12 guests.
