About

Surrounded by towering mountains, green meadows, and spectacular mountain lakes, you’ll find Sæbø Camping – a family-run business with over 80 years of history, where four generations have welcomed guests to experience overnight stays and outdoor adventures at the gateway to Hardangervidda. The campsite is located in Øvre Eidfjord, right by Lake Eidfjordvatnet and the Bjoreio River, offering wide open green spaces, peaceful surroundings, and stunning views of dramatic West Norwegian nature.

Covering 45 acres of flat, family-friendly terrain, the site offers plenty of space for cars, tents, caravans, and motorhomes – with a total of 100 pitches, 100 electrical outlets, and 8 seasonal sites. Sæbø Camping has never been fully booked, so reservations are generally not necessary. Accommodation options range from simple cabins to modern ones with bathrooms and fully equipped kitchens.

Activities and Experiences Just Outside Your Tent

Sæbø Camping is an ideal base for hiking adventures in Hardangervidda, Måbødalen, and Hjølmodalen. There’s a wide selection of marked trails in the area, and the reception sells trail maps and provides great advice for outdoor adventures, big or small.

For those who want to get out on the water, the campsite rents out boats and canoes for fishing trips or exploration on Lake Eidfjordvatnet. You can fish for Arctic char, farmed salmon, and sea trout – and fishing permits are available for purchase on site.

Nearby, you’ll also find some of Eidfjord’s top attractions, including the Norwegian Nature Center Hardanger, Best Adventures, Vøringsfossen waterfall, and Kjeåsen Mountain Farm, just to name a few.

Welcome to Sæbø Camping!
