About

From Øystese, we head out on the inner Hardangerfjord before entering Fyksesund, the only fjord branch in the region with no road leading to its end. Travelling here feels like stepping back in time. Steep mountain walls rise nearly 1,000 meters above you, creating a dramatic landscape found only in Hardanger.

Your captain and guide make several stops so you can take in the atmosphere and learn about the people who once lived along the fjord, the cultural landscape, and the narrow paths connecting farms, mountains, and sea.

Fyksesund is also known for its many waterfalls. We move close to the cascades so you can feel the mist from the falls while remaining completely safe in the RIB boat.

At the end of the fjord, we stop outside Botnen – a roadless hamlet with a unique cultural history, shaped by isolation yet connected to the wider world through centuries of trade and exchange.

A powerful and meaningful fjord adventure

A RIB safari to Fyksesund blends speed, scenery, and storytelling. You will feel the power of the boat, the wind in your hair, and the calm of a fjord landscape that remains largely untouched – all guided by local experts who know this area better than anyone.
