In about two hours you will reach the village of Rosendal, at the mouth of Hardangerfjord, it is like a slice of Norway in miniature. The possibilities are endless, whether you just want to stroll around the beautiful village, stop at a gallery and have a good cup of coffee at one of the many cafes – or take in the magnificent scenery. Just a 1.5 kilometer walk from the village center is the Baroniet (Barony), with Scandinavia’s smallest castle, from 1665, surrounded by a beautiful rose garden with a pleasant garden cafe where you can have lunch if you’d like.

Some of the finest hiking areas in western Norway are nearby, with mountain trails suited to all levels of trekkers, from families with children to those seeking tougher challenges. 

The Hardangerfjordekspressen also correspond with bus to Odda which is the starting point for a trip to Trolltunga Rock.
